WHAT IS A CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Joining a CSA is like investing in a farm.
How Does It Work?
Prior to the growing season, you purchase a membership or ‘share’ in the farmer’s crop. This allows the farmer to buy seeds and supplies to grow the produce. Once the crop is ready for harvesting you begin receiving a regularly scheduled bundle of farm-fresh produce.
What Does That Look Like?
Our Summer CSA runs for 12 weeks, beginning in the middle of July through to September (Fall CSA runs for 8 weeks). Members collect their bundle of goods each week from a central pickup location. Each bundle contains a generous selection of 7-11 seasonal produce items. Vegetables are delivered directly to their weekly pick-up locations within 24-48 hours of being picked. They are washed, chilled and ready to rinse and eat.
We have six pick-up locations to choose from:
Camrose- (Rose City Church)
Edmonton- North (Meuwly’s Artisan Food Market)
Edmonton- City Centre (Dirtbag Cafe)
Edmonton- Southwest (Square 1 Coffee)
Edmonton- WEst (factory climbing)
Sherwood Park- (Roasti Coffee Co.)
(See more about Pickup Locations)
You may designate an alternate person to pick up your share for weeks that you can’t make it or are on holidays. Unclaimed shares are donated to local food programs or distributed in other ways.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The incomparable taste of fresh produce all season long.
The great nutritional benefits of including more vegetables in your diet.
Excitement of some new varieties and flavours of vegetables not commonly found at your local grocery store.
The confidence of knowing where your food comes from, how it’s grown, and a connection to the very farmer who grew it.
Supporting your local farmer and contributing to your local economy.
Being part of a community of members passionate about local produce and good food, even enjoying time together in the farm garden.
HOW MUCH DO I GET?
Our PERSONAL SHARE feeds an individual (5-7 items per week).
Our SINGLE SHARE feeds 2-3 people or a small family (7-10 items per week).
Our DOUBLE SHARE feeds a group of 4-6 people or a family who loves vegetables (same variety as the Single Share in roughly double the amount).
*A mid-season single share fills a Superstore bin or Rubbermaid.
WHAT IS THE COST?
The price you pay for our produce is similar to or less than the grocery store, but with taste and quality that are far superior. You’ll have the choice to pay in full by cheque, e-transfer or Paypal, or you can make up to 8 equal instalment payments by cheque or e-transfer. We also offer shares with GARDEN TIME and shares without. (Learn more about Garden Time.)

IS THERE RISK INVOLVED?
Each season is unique, so with a CSA you buy into the risks and rewards of farming along with the farmer, knowing that on occasion a crop may fail despite the farmer’s best efforts. We promise to do our best to provide you with a bountiful share each week, however quantities may vary from week to week due to uncontrollable factors such as weather, insects, pests or disease. By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share the risk of occasional crop failure with us and also to share in the (sometimes overwhelming) abundance.
