BIG CHANGES AT GREY ARROW FARM…

After a decade of successfully growing clean, healthy produce for our community (AND TRULY LOVING IT), we have moved on from farming into new things! (See below) – Camrose, Alberta

What a fantastic decade it’s been, growing and providing you all with delicious, organic produce here in the Central Alberta prairies. As our sold-out CSA seasons continue rolling in (thank you ALL for the love and support!), we have decided to pass the farm on to some talented new successors, Jeff and Alison Draper of Marigold Meadows. These folks are equally passionate about regenerative farming, growing quality food, and building community, and will continue on with our CSA program.

Growing season:

July – December

“Each week the children keep a careful eye on the calendar and are excited when it is ‘veggie pick up night’. We really enjoy the abundance of items in our bins; some of which we have never heard of. We’ve become more creative and also found some new favourites!”

Jillian Wideman, CSA Member

“I love it. I feel like every week is a new veggie challenge for me… how to use all that beautiful produce.”

Leslie-Anne Chapman, CSA Member

“I’ve seriously never enjoyed veggies so much. I had never really eaten kale before, and I actually loved it!”

Land Acknowledgement

Grey Arrow Farm was located on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional and ancestral territory to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Metis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge and are grateful for the many Indigenous Peoples who have lived and cared for these lands for generations. We also acknowledge the historical and ongoing impact the land title system has had on Indigenous Peoples lands and food systems. As we now live in the context of a colonial system, we recognize the Indigenous Peoples experience with colonialism is truth.

We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and Gratitude to those whose territory we resided on.

BACK TO OUR Big CHANGE…

WHY have we moved on from the farm? With our kids all growing older, our lives have become busier in new ways. We want to spend more time with our family, as well as pursue some new passions and hobbies (stay tuned)! So this fall, we moved off the farm and back to town into an older house that we are excitedly fixing up.

We are still retaining our name (Grey Arrow Farm) along with our website, blog and social media pages— so you can stay tuned for updates, veggie tips, recipes, book news, and the journey of Grey Arrow Farm and our family as it evolves.

Are we feeling nostalgic as we step away from this beautiful farm we all loved and forward into something new? We sure are. It’s wild to look back on all the pictures from the past decade and see how far we’ve come and what has been accomplished. (Just look at those two young newbies getting their farming feet wet 10 years ago… and those sweet little boys helping out dad on the potato planter our first season.)

A HUGE thank you to all our devoted CSA members and customers over the past decade, for your investment in our family farm, eating local grown, and being genuinely wonderful all these years. This has been a fantastic farming journey, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Now onto some new adventures!
